4 Week Basic Narcotics K9 Course

Date: March 9th- April 3rd, 2020
Location: Chico CA
Price: $4,000.00 Per Canine and Handler

Meyer’s Police Canine Training is offering a 4 week (160 hour) basic K9 handler’s course in Chico, California. This course is designed to provide the basic skills necessary, to the handler and canine to perform as a law enforcement canine team. Our training facility is comprised of over 7 acres of ideal training grounds, including on site lodging and dog kennels. Canines will be certified to California POST standards at the completion of the course for narcotics functions. Other state standards may be implemented if needed.

A complete K9 manual will be provided to the handler along with a K9 case law update class during the course. Also a K9 medical course will be provided at no additional charge.

Canines will be dual certified to California POST standards at the completion of the course for patrol and detection functions. Other state standards may be implemented if needed.

5 Week K9 Trainer's Course

Price: $7,000.00 Per Student

Meyer’s Police K9 Training is offering a 5 week (200 hour) K9 trainer’s course. This course is designed to provide a great base line for initial and ongoing maintenance training for Police and Military K9’s. Our very experienced staff will provide hands on training and exposure to initial K9 training for Patrol and Detection along with exposure to weekly police maintenance training. The students will work side by side with an instructor for 5 weeks. We will teach you how to keep your K-9 unit up to speed with new K9 Training techniques and tactics.

This course includes a K9 Case Law Update Course and K9 medical course

One Day K9 Case Law Update Course

Date: March 27th, 2020 Time: 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM
Location: Oxford Suites, 2035 Business Ln., Chico, CA
Price: $400 Per Student

This one-day K-9 Case Law Update Seminar is designed to educate and update canine handlers, canine administrators, Deputy District Attorneys and others involved in canine deployments, training, liability and prosecution. This course will provide the students with up to date canine case law regarding detection and apprehension canines. Our instructor, Elizabeth Norton, currently a Supervising Deputy District Attorney, will help canine handlers and administrators better understand canine liability, case law and courtroom presentation. We will cover policies, compensation issues, report writing, courtroom testimony, use of force, suspect interviews, injury documentation, detection canine legal issues, and other topics. In addition, Elizabeth is an expert in narcotics cases, including marijuana and BHO cases, she will discuss how the new California Marijuana laws can affect you. Each student will be provided a canine manual.

Two Day K9 Agitator Course

Date: April 7th & April 8th, 2020
Location: Chico CA
Price: $400 Per Student

Meyer’s Police Canine Training is offering a two day K9 agitator class in Chico. This class is designed to teach the student/handler how to properly present agitation equipment and read police working dogs. This two day class will teach the student/handler how to properly use a body suit, bite sleeve, hidden sleeve and conduct muzzle agitation, cage work and high finds.

We will provide all the necessary training equipment for the class but students/handlers are encouraged to bring their own equipment if possible. Students/handlers are also encouraged to bring dogs to participate in the class but it is not required.
